If you’re a Windows 8 user, you can access Metro apps from the Windows Explorer. This is a great way to get around the Windows 8 interface and see what’s going on without having to open the Metro apps themselves. To access Metro apps from Explorer, open Explorer and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the window. This will take you to a list of folders that contain all of your Metro apps. From here, you can select any of them and it will show you its properties in the right-hand pane.

Windows 8 comes with its new Metro Start Screen, which makes it easy to launch your Metro apps from that screen, but did you know you can access them from Windows Explorer too? Here’s how to do it.

To get started you need to create a shortcut, so right-click on the desktop, and choose New –>  Shortcut.

When you are asked for the location of the item, use the following:

Give your shortcut a name, like All Apps and click finish.

If you open the shortcut you will see it has all your apps, including your Metro apps, conveniently in one place.

Now you can just double click on any app to launch it.
