If you’re like most people, you probably use Microsoft Word to write documents, letters, and other text-based work. And if you’re like most people, you probably want to be able to change the inch measurements in your documents to the centimeter measurements. Fortunately, it’s easy to do. Here’s how:

  1. Open Microsoft Word 2010 and click on the File tab.
  2. Click on Options and then click on the Proofing tab.
  3. Under “Text height (inches):,” type in 12 inches and then click on OK.
  4. Under “Text height (centimeters):,” type in 20 centimeters and then click on OK. ..

By default in Microsoft Word 2010, width, height, and even paper size is shown in inches. For some people this is an obscure measurement that is hardly ever used. If you’d rather display in centimeters instead, let’s take a look at how we can change the default measurement unit from inches to centimeters.

Click on the File Menu and select  Options:

Now click on the Advanced section:

Scroll down to the Display section and change the the option to display measurements in to centimeters, by selecting it from the drop-down menu:

If you use the rulers you will immediately notice a difference:
