Windows 8 is a new operating system from Microsoft that is designed to be user-friendly and easy to use. One of the new features of Windows 8 is the Metro Start Screen. The Metro Start Screen is a user interface that was designed specifically for touch devices, such as tablets and smartphones. The Metro Start Screen can be customized to show the apps that are most important to you. You can group apps together by using the app bar at the bottom of the screen. This app bar can be customized to show different types of apps, such as music, video, news, and weather. Grouping apps on the Metro Start Screen makes it easier for you to find what you are looking for. You can also use the app bar to access your favorite apps quickly. ..

The Windows 8 Start Screen certainly takes some getting use to, however, one of the things that I really miss about the Start Menu was how i was able to categorize my installed applications. While you cant create folders on the Start Screen, you can group your applications.

To get started head over to the Metro Start Screen and move your mouse to the bottom right-hand corner, clicking on the small icon.

Now right click on the group of apps that you want to name.

This will bring up a bar at the bottom of your screen, click Name Group.

Give your group a name.

Now if you go back you go back and look at the Start Screen you will see your group of apps has been named.
